HISTORY

First Brahma Kumari Rajyoga Center in Nepal was setup at Biratnagar in 1966 as a branch of Prajapita Brahma Kumaris Ishwariya Vishwa Vidyalaya. Before that different graound works were being done by various individuals. Its services in Nepal gradually picked momentum after its center was established in Kathmandu, the capital city of Nepal in 1967.
Service center was established in Birgunj in 2031 B.S., in Narayangarh in 2039 B.S, in Hetauda in 2041, in Janakpur in 2043 and slowly it spread out through out Nepal & now it boasts more than 800 centers. Its network covers all major cities and towns.

Registration with Nepal Government
BrahmaKumariRajyogaCenter, Kathmandu, Nepal was formally registered with Government of Nepal on B.S. 2045 Chaitra 26. It is also registered with Social Welfare Council of Nepal.

Historical Events
Through out the history of Institution many important programs were organized; few outstanding programs are enumerated below:

Indo- Nepal Environment Campaign (5th Sept – 18th Oct. 1992)
At a time when deterioration of environment is causing serious concern to all, a cross nation level Environment Program was launched jointly by the Brahma Kumaris Rajyoga Center, Nepal and the Scientists & Engineering wing of Rajyoga Education & Research Foundation, a sister Institution of PBKIVV.
A forty five day long program named Indo-Nepal Environment Awareness Campaign passing through and covering forty towns and cities of eight different districts of Nepal and Bihar, Wes Bengal, U. P states of India that concluded in Lucknow (India) on 18th Oct. 1992 was launched by State Minister for Forest and Environment Bir Mani Dhakal on 5th Sept. 1992 at City Hall, Kathmandu.

Indo-Nepal Holistic Health Awareness and De-addiction Campaign (27th Sept. – 11th Oct. 16)
In order to spread the message of healthy living and stree-free life and to generate awareness against smoking, drinking & drug abuse and motivate to adopt drug free life as a part of Diamond Jubilee Celebrations of PBKIVV which went across nine district cities of Nepal (namely Kathmandu, Narayangarh, Hetauda, Birgunj, Janakpur, Rajbiraj, Biratnagar, Dharan, Birtamode) and India (Darjeeling, Sikkim, Gantok, Silguri) through lectures, seminars, counseling and health check-up.

National Conference on “Moral Values for Better World” (12 Jestha 2052)
To mark the Silver Jubilee of Brahma Kumaris Nepal above mentioned conference was organized and which was inaugurated by then Prime Minister Man Mohan Adhikari and Chaired by then Chief of PBKIVV, Dadi Prakashmani.

Dadi Prakashmani, the then Administrative Head of PBKIVV addressed the International conference organized by World Hindu Federation at Kathmandu on Chaitra 11, 2044 B. S.

Mass Felicitations in Honor of Dadi Prakashmani
Dadi Prakash Mani was honoured with felicitations by 97 various organizations in recognition of her efforts to world peace, uplift moral values and create spiritual awareness across the world in the service to humanity in a mass Felicitations program organized by World Hindu Federation, Kathmandu on Jestha 9 & 10 2055 B. S.

International Conference on “Moral & Spiritual Values for Better 21st Century” 1998
400 delegates from 40 different countries participated in the three day long above mentioned conference organized at BirendraInternationalConvention Center. It was inaugurated by then His Majesty King Birendra Bir Bikram Shah Dev at the presence of Her Majesty Queen Aishwarya Rajya Laxmi Devi Shah, Prime Minister Girija Prasad Koirala and Dadi Prakashmani and other prominent figures.

Indo-Nepal Shree Pashupati Nath Rath Yatra 2000
A month long Pashupati Nath Rath Yatra program was organized, which was inaugurated by then Prime Minister Krishna Prasad Bhattarai. This Yatra covered more than 30 cities of Nepal and India traveling more than 3000 Km and the Rath Yatra concluded by converging with 12 different Jotir Lingum Rath Yatra of India at Mt. Abu, Headquarters of Brahma Kumaris with grand closing program.

Dadi Prakashmani ji and the then Minister of Works & Transport Dr. Damber Narayan Yadav jointly laid the foundation stone of “Vishwa Shanti Bhawan” the present Brahma Kumari Rajyoga Center on Chitra 8, 2040 B. S.

Dadi Prakashmani ji and Former Prime Minister Nagendra Prasad Rijal jointly inaugurated “Vishwa Shanti Bhawan”, on Baishakh 12, 2044 B. S.

Billion minutes of Good Wishes Bank project (24th June – 15th August 2010)
A global initiative of PBKIVV through its branches in 132 countries across the world urging people to donate good wishes for self and fellow human beings, animals and nature so that human society of the world at large could be converted to harmonious society and sa safe heaven to all. Brahma Kumaris Nepal is aiming to collect 300 million minutes of Good wishes through out Nepal from its part.

My Nepal Healthy Nepal Health awareness campaign (29th August – 15th Sept. 2010)
A 20 day long health awareness campaign from Kathmandu to Illam in east is being organized by Brahma Kumaris Nepal and Medical Wing of PBKIVV to generate greater awareness in Spiritual health apart from physical, mental & social health. 15 members of Doctors which includes some prominent Doctors from India is also participating along with a team of medical doctors of Nepal.
